Barely a day after the picture of Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey posing with a controversial anti-Brahmin poster blew up, the All India Brahmin body — Vipra Foundation — is initiating legal action against him. To that end, a case of hurting religious sentiments, defamation and causing communal disharmony will be filed against Dorsey on Thursday at the Rajasthan High Court in Jodhpur. Interestingly, the lawyer who represented Salan Khan, Hastimal Saraswat, will be filing the case on behalf of the Brahmin body.
Speaking to DNA, Founder Convenor of Vipra Foundation, Sushil Ojha, said, "India's culture and heritage is based on practices the sacrifices of Brahmins over centuries. Twitter CEO's vilified left-leaning narrative on Brahmins and India's culture is an attempt to divide the country on caste. The derogatory portrayal of Brahmins by Twitter CEO is a reflection of how a section of people are hell bent on destroying the heritage culture of India by claiming 'Brahmin patriarchy'. He added, "We will give a fitting reply to the shameful act by filing a defamation case against him at the Rajasthan High Court. We will demand that he unconditionally apologise and issue an explanation on who forced him to promote the said narrative."
Saraswat also confirmed to DNA that he is in the process of preparing the case. "Yes, I am filing a case of defamation and attempt to divide the society. Brahmins are respected since ancient times and the poster Dorsey is seen holding in the picture has a communal touch and promotes a narrative against Brahmin community."
