Board exams: CBSE affiliated schools to send students’ attendance

Schools affiliated with CBSE are in the process of sending the attendance of students of class 12 and 10 who appear for board examinations in 2019. For this, the schools have been asked by CBSE to send the attendance of the students from the day of commencement of classes of 12th and 10th standard i.e. from the beginning of session upto January 1. The CBSE has also sent a format to the schools. For the ones whose attendance is falling short, the schools will have to give condonation of shortage. This application will have to be sent to the regional offices of CBSE and schools have been asked to send this application by January 15. 

The school principals will have to mention the maximum possible attendance by the students counted from the day of commencement of classes, attendance put in my candidate during this period upto January 1, schools will also have to mention the percentage of attendance of the said student and also the specific recommendations of the school principal. The students need to have 75% attendance in class. CBSE has clearly stated that no such request will be accepted after January 15.

Notably, many students who are in class 12 and 10 many times miss school due to various reasons like illness, participating in some sporting event or due to some family reasons. Therefore, by the end of the academic year, many times their attendance falls short. Since these two classes are board examination classes, therefore, the details of the attendance of students of these classes is sent to CBSE which allows them to appear for the board examination.

Though the date sheet of this year’s board examination is yet not released but it’s being expected that subject examination will be conducted in the month of February and academic subject examination will be conducted in March or April, therefore the process of attendance etc is already on in the schools. In the coming few weeks, the pre-boards will start in schools for both the classes. Students are now busy making preparations for them and are revising their course.
