The party, acting on directions of the national president Amit Shah, has formulated a strategy to strengthen the Booth and Shakti Kendra units and make the Vistarak model more effective.
Taking lessons from the defeat in the Assembly elections, the BJP in Rajasthan has started preparing for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, which are scheduled in May next year.
BJP leaders have started messaging party workers who are disappointed after the defeat in the recently-concluded polls. The party, acting on directions of the national president Amit Shah, has formulated a strategy to strengthen the Booth and Shakti Kendra units and make the Vistarak model more effective.
In order to win big in the Lok Sabha elections, the national leadership has given the state unit a roadmap to the polls due next year. “There is definitely going to be a sweeping change in the organization. Heads will roll at the district units where the party has fared badly in the polls,” a BJP office bearer told DNA.
The party’s national leadership has, however, instructed the BJP leaders to review the performance of each of the 41 mandals (organisational districts) in Rajasthan. The BJP had won 163 seats in the previous assembly elections. This time, the party got only 73 seats.
“We have been directed to to organise district-wise review meetings on December 22 and 23 across the state to pin down the reasons for defeat in the assembly elections,” an official said. A senior leader of the post of secretary and vice-president, have been put in charge of each district. “The in-charge will review the party’s performance during the assembly elections in the district. There will be a one-day review meeting in each district on December 22 or 23. Party’s MPs, MLAs, MLA candidates, Panchayati Raj and urban local bodies public representatives, office bearers of district unit and other senior party workers will participate in the meeting,” the official added.
According to sources, BJP National President Amit Shah had reviewed the party’s defeat in the five states, including Rajasthan on December 13 in Delhi. After that Shah has directed all state units, including MP and Chhattisgarh to review the loss on every constituency.
