Over two hundred vehicles damaged including nearly four dozen low floor buses in Jaipur alone. Over two hundred arrested across state for violence and disrupting peace. And the police now suspects of a backlash on Tuesday for which paramilitary forces would be deployed across sensitive areas in the state.

“We are in touch with paramilitary forces which would be deployed on Tuesday as there could be a backlash from sections of the society that fell victim to today’s violence,” said N R K Reddy, ADG - Law and Order.

Highly placed sources reveal that the intel wing of the state police had alerted about such incidents during the rally. “We had prepared for an organized rally and special arrangements had also been made if that rally went awry.

Although additional deployment of nearly thirty companies had been done for sensitive areas, but since the rally was leaderless and any anti-social element could create a ruckus,” a highly placed official confessed.
