“We are in touch with paramilitary forces which would be deployed on Tuesday as there could be a backlash from sections of the society that fell victim to today’s violence,” said N R K Reddy, ADG - Law and Order.
Highly placed sources reveal that the intel wing of the state police had alerted about such incidents during the rally. “We had prepared for an organized rally and special arrangements had also been made if that rally went awry.
When you know a rally will start at some place and end at someplace, one can make elaborate plans. But across the state, various groups cropped up from nowhere and targeted individual areas where police deployment was less or negligent taking us by surprise. Although additional deployment of nearly thirty companies had been done for sensitive areas, but since the rally was leaderless and any anti-social element could create a ruckus,” a highly placed official confessed.
