Gurjar leader, Kirori Singh Bainsla, on Friday warned chief minister Ashok Gehlot that the community will not support the Congress in Lok Sabha election if its demand is not implemented.

“Reservation is our right and we must have it and  we will take care of one who takes care of us,” Bainsla said.   He called upon the community members to be ready for an aggressive agitation at Malarnadunger in Sawai Madhopur district from February 8.

“If 5% reservation for Gurjars under SBC is not granted, the community led by me would start an agitation at  Malarnadunger in Swai Madhopur district from February 8,” Bainsla said.

He also sought intervention of Priyanka Gandhi for 5% SBC quota for Gurjars. Addressing a mahapanchyat of Gurjars in Nainwa town of Bundi district, Bainsla said, “It is our request to Congress high command and special request to Priyankaji to sincerely consider our right and implement 5% SBC reservation quota for Gurjars”. He said that he would request the high command “to test them and see (the results)”.

On the other hand, he said Centre has okayed 10% reservation to swarn castes with all the formalities having been completed and Gujarat has even implemented it, “now if I am not given 5% reservation before February 8, I will start the agitation that I have announced,” Bainsla said. The negotiation this time won’t take place across the table, the government must come and talk to the community, he said. He called upon community members to strengthen his hands so that he can restore the dignity.
