Adverse weather conditions caused emergency landing of a Jet Airways plane at Jaipur international airport on Friday. The flight had 125 passengers on board at the time of landing.

According to the sources, a Delhi-bound Jet Airways plane from Leh with 125 passengers made an emergency landing at the Airport, as it was unable to land at the destination due to bad weather.

The plane scheduled to land in Delhi faced adverse weather conditions which made it to hover around for long time. With the hovering, the fuel got depleted following which it was decided by the crew to land it safely at Jaipur which had clear weather conditions. The aircraft landed safely and all passengers were safe.The fuel was filled in the plane here and it took flight again at 1pm for Delhi.

“The plane from Leh reached Delhi but it could not land there due to adverse weather conditions. The aircraft was hovering over Delhi but bad weather could not allow it land, as a result it ran short of fuel following which it was diverted to Jaipur. The plane landed safely here,” informed a senior airport official.

Notably, the National Capital Region (NCR) woke up to a rain soaked morning on Friday after overnight thundershowers were witnessed. Delhi received around 18mm of rain in few hours. Wet roads, drenched trees and moist soil with a few water puddles here and there were a welcome sight for Delhiites who had been baking under the scorching heat till Saturday. This causes traffic congestion at Delhi airport too.
