Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supermo Mayawati on Monday accused BJP and Congress of anti-Dalit policies and said that both parties are trying to ‘abolish’ the reservation system. Addressing public gatherings in Jhunjhunu and Jaipur, she said that government of both the parties have failed to address issues of Dalits, religious minorities and tribal population.

She claimed no government at the Centre accomplished anything “remarkable” in terms of welfare of the poor, Dalits, religious minorities, tribal people since independence. Former UP chief minister has been playing on the reservation card in her election rallies to further strengthen her support in the backward communities. In election bound Rajasthan, reservation and caste divide remains a major issue for political parties and the BSP supremo is trying to take the lead on the issue even as all major parties have said that they remain committed reservation.

However, in her public address Mayawati also made an inclusive appeal to all sections. She said that her party has extended representation to all communities while distributing tickets for assembly elections in Rajasthan. She even assured support to reservation for financially backwards from all communities.  The BSP, which has walked out of the mega-alliance with Congress, is contesting 190 seats.
