An ecotourism project spread over 64 hectares of land, the Kishan Bagh, would be among the tourist spots in the city by October. The Jaipur Development Authority has initiated work on all the remaining modules as the project reaches its final stages. Located in the foothills of Nahargarh, Kishan Bagh is part of stabilized sand dunes and nearly 30 acres JDA land extending in Nahargarh Sanctuary.

“Tender for all remaining modules, entrance plaza, ramp, walkway, visitors center, botanical exhibit, microhabitat have been released and the work is expected to be completed by October,” said a senior JDA officer.

On commission, Kishan Bagh shall offer visitors the experience of the desert dunes in the proximity of water bodies and diverse plantation spread over nearly 30 acres. The project has been proposed to rejuvenate the natural habitat of Kishan Bagh and improve on its biodiversity.

The development authority has sanctioned nearly Rs 9 crore for the phase 1 of the project, of these, the last tender of nearly Rs 2.3 crore work was floated recently. According to the JDA officials, plantation work has advanced in accordance with the targets for past two years while major construction works including fencing wall, water body and pathway has been completed.

Kishan Bagh forestry project was announced in August 2016 at the MoU signing of Dravyavati riverfront. The project has since advanced on a fast pace and is scheduled to be unveiled along with the same.

The two projects along with Nahargarh sanctuary shall ensure that the residents and those visiting the city have more eco-tourism opportunity before the assembly elections scheduled in end of this year.

The development authority is thus also keen to get the completion deadline close to those projects being inaugurated by the state government this year.
