Already on a victory Lap?

Bypolls were held on Monday for the Alwar and Ajmer Lok Sabha constituencies and Mandalgarh assembly constituency. The BJP and the Congress have claimed victory in the elections.

BJP state president Ashok Parnami claimed victory for all its three candidates.Parnami said that the BJP’s three candidates will win with higher margins than before.

“Voters voted with enthusiasm on the holy day of democracy.I express gratitude to voters for this. People voted in favour of the BJP and totally rejected the Congress,”said the state chief of the ruling party. He said the BJP’s three candidates will win with huge margins. Due to the public welfare schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje,the country and the state are rapidly developing, he added. He further went on to say that under the leadership of Raje, the state government has done so many works in the last four years, which Congress has not done in its tenure. He thanked party workers for their hard work in convincing the people to vote for the party. In Alwar, BJP candidate Jaswant Singh Yadav cast his vote in Silpata village. During this time, he said that Congress had the weakest candidate.

BJP will win elections on the basis of development works and public welfare schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. BJP general secretary (organization) Chandrashekhar congratulated the people of the state for voting by two tweets. Chandrasekhar tweeted that “ Adhiktam matdaan, jay-jay Rajasthan, Janta Janardhan pranaam.”  (Victory for Rajasthan, I pray to the people for maximum polling).

Bypoll bits

Education minister Vasudev Devnani had a face off with Congress workers who alleged he violated the model code of conduct. The incident occurred in Kishangarh Saint Ramdas School polling booth on Monday morning. 
Akhil Rajasthan Rajya Karmchari Sangharsh Samiti alleged that government officers engaged in election duty were not allowed to cast votes and it was conspiracy hatched by the State.

On a boycott

Alwar’s Lamachpur and Ajmer’s Manda villages boycotted election. The villagers were angry with the government machinery on certain local issues which provoked them not to take part in elections. It is not the first time villagers have boycotted election in Rajasthan.

Targeting modi

Former Union Minister Jitendra Singh targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi after voting in Alwar. Singh said that this by-election was a test of the Prime Minister’s performance. “This election will tell the result of the Prime Minister’s style of functioning. We will win the bypolls,” he said.
