The state government has increased its outlay on medical and health by about 34% this time. The state budget 2018-19 has a provision of Rs 7816.53 crore for medical and health sector including Ayurveda which was Rs 5843.20 crore in 2017-18.

As per the announcements, centralised Oxygen Supply will be arranged in mother and child health units. At 22 units of 100 bed capacity and 15 units with the capacity of 50 beds, the facility will be run at PPP mode with the expenditure of Rs 18.57 crore. A new medical college will be established in Dholpur district while across the state 28 new Primary Health Centers (PHC) will be established and 16 PHCs will be upgraded to Community Health Center (CHC).

Looking at the patient load at the SMS hospital, a new Cath Lab and two new examination halls will be constructed. CM announced establishment of new Cath Labs in Bikaner and Ajmer Medical college. Ajmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Jhalawar, and Kota medical colleges will also get better equipment support.

Bed capacity at Satellite Hospital Shahpura (Bhilwara) will be increased to 100 beds from current 75 beds, with the expenditure of Rs 1.45 crore per year. 4,514 Nurse Grade-II and 5,558 Women Health Workers will be recruited.

Considering the monetary expenses and cut the power bill, roof top solar plants will be established at 27 district hospitals. Fire fighting and fire detection systems will be set up at 27 district hospitals.

Three new courses in Government Ayurveda College, Udaipur has been announced.
