DNA CONVERSATION: Completing 22 Godam elevated road is my priority, says Pratap Singh Khachariyawas

Civil Lines MLA Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, who was made Cabinet minister in recent expansion of the Gehlot Cabinet, has said that the government will deliver good governance. Khachariyawas, who also happens to be Jaipur district Congress president, while speaking to Yuvraj Shrimal also claimed that development schemes launched by Raje government will continue and will be completed in Jaipur.

Don’t you think delay in ticket distribution and then portfolio allocation in Gehlot government has sent a negative message in public.

There have been many instance when Cabinet formation and portfolio allocation was over delayed. There is no deadlock on the formation of Cabinet, indeed it is an example of better understanding between two leaders (Gehlot-Pilot). They have the best understanding. No deadlock happens when the decision is taken at level of Congress chief Rahul Gandhi. When the government will start functioning it will deliver good governance with best decisions.

What portfolio you vie for and find yourself suitable of?

I have no wish for any particular portfolio. I am a task master and take every work as a challenge. The department (I get) should be public dealing in which I can work for the people and serve them, that is my aim. Decision on my portfolio will be taken by CM Ashok Gehlot and deputy CM Sachin Pilot.

Will Raje’s ambitious Dravyawati Project be speed up by Congress government?

We will get the project completed as civil works are on. I think that there is need to improve working style of JDA and JMC. Not just in Jaipur, the local bodies and cells entrusted with the development task should change their functioning across the state.

What will be your plan to make 22 Godown elevated road project move fast. 

The BJP has left this project mid way.  My priority is to get it completed on time so commuters get rid off traffic menace. Also, I would work on extensively to end traffic jam across the city.

In your constituency which issue would be taken up seriously by you?

The water crisis in my constituency is deeper as the supply of Bisalpur water has been reduced. I will sort out this soon as I have already planned a scheme in my mind. Whatever issues are pending, be it related to water or poor roads, it will be sorted. I am available 24 hours on phone and my residence is open for all who have grievances.
