The Mumbai Indians vs Rajasthan Royals IPL 2020 clash at the Sheikh Zayed stadium in Abu Dhabi saw a scary moment in the 19th over when Suryakumar Yadav was hit on the side of the head by a bouncer from Jofra Archer. Suryakumar had a concussion test and after he was deemed fit to continue, he blasted a six off Jofra Archer and his unbeaten 79 helped Mumbai Indians reach 193/4. However, when Mumbai Indians came out to field, Suryakumar Yadav was not present and he was replaced by Under-19 World Cup star Anukul Roy.

Rajasthan Royals kept losing wickets at regular wickets but in the ninth over, Mumbai Indians’ dominance was sealed by a special bit of fielding from Anukul Roy. Rahul Chahar bowled a flighted delivery on leg stump and it turned away, Mahipal Lomror came down the track and looked to launch it down the ground but got a big top edge. Anukul Roy ran back from mid off and took a splendid diving catch with both hands.

Anukul Roy might not get many chances in the Mumbai Indians side due to the dominance of Rohit Sharma’s side but his catch has once again given an indication of the depth of the talent available for the Indian cricket team in the near future.

Worked on our fielding

In the first couple of games, Mumbai Indians were accused of being rusty in the field as they looked unfit and dropped catches. However, in the game against Rajasthan Royals, skipper Rohit Sharma stressed that the team worked on the fielding.

“We strive to be out there and play well. We have a lot of quality and it's about getting the job done. They all have a lot of confidence. They're all talented and they can take the game away on their day and it's all falling into place. We also worked a lot on our fielding, because it's one of the controllables in the game and we made it a point to do that well,” Rohit Sharma said.
