Delhi Capitals won the toss and chose to bat in the IPL 2020 final against Mumbai Indians at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. Shreyas Iyer's side remained unchanged from their previous game against Sunrisers Hyderabad while for Mumbai Indians, there was one change and a welcome relief. Trent Boult, who had bowled just two overs in Qualifier 1 after taking two wickets, had suffered a groin injury and was racing against time to be fit. However, he passed the fitness test and was included in the side. However, the one major change for Mumbai Indians was that Jayant Yadav was included to replace Rahul Chahar in the side.

The fact that Delhi Capitals have plenty of left-handers in the batting line-up meant that a legspinner, who spins the delivery in to the left-hander, could have been easy pickings. With the offspinner spinning the ball away from the right-hander, it could be a difficult situation.

Speaking on the toss, Rohit Sharma said he was confused as to what to do. "To be really honest I was very confused, so don't mind losing the toss. It is going to be a good track, it doesn't change much. We have to bowl aggressively at the start and then see how it goes. It feels nice to be part of another final. It is going to be a cracker of a game. The past doesn't matter, it is a fresh day, a fresh game and the pressure of this final will be different. But the guys have been in these pressure situations before, they understand the pressure of finals and yes, we have just got to treat this as another game. Hopefully we can execute what we've discussed on the field. Everyone's fit, but just one chance -- Rahul Chahar misses out and Jayant Yadav comes in. Just a tactical move considering the amount of left-handers they have in the side," Rohit stated.

Eyeing for glory

Shreyas Iyer was clear in his gameplan and said he had wanted to bat. "It really worked out pretty well in the last game. When you have a really good total on the board the bowling gets a lot of confidence. We've seen it through the tournament and in a big final runs on the board helps The wicket also looks amazing to bat on. They have been champions through the years and even the way they've been playing this season. We have nothing to lose, we havr to embrace it and have no regrets at the end of it. The team atmosphere is really motivated, we are in a good mood and have to enjoy the day. We are sticking with the same team," Iyer said.

Mumbai Indians will be gunning for their fifth title in the Indian Premier League and Rohit Sharma will be determined to ensure that they create history in Dubai. On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer's Delhi Capitals will be determined to create their own slice of history and win the IPL for the first time after struggling at the middle or in the bottom of the table for majority of this decade.
