It's unusual for a player, who hasn't been a popular name in domestic cricket, to get picked by an IPL team, and then get to play his first game on such a big stage against the likes of Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle and outwit the batsman such as with the calibre of the former.
The two superstars of Indian cricket currently, faced off each other for the first time eight years ago on April 4, 2013. Jasprit Bumrah, the lanky, skinny tall pacer from Gujarat with an unorthodox action comes on charging and Kohli is just taken aback by the unusual action.

Eight years later, Bumrah is currently one of the best bowlers in the world and one of the superstars in the IPL. Bumrah, now having played for Mumbai Indians in all the seasons of the IPL since has won the title with the team for five times and has played 92 games in the league, taking 109 wickets at a strike rate of 19.2 and an economy of just 7.41.

Since that game, whenever the two teams lock horns, Bumrah vs Kohli battle is always looked forward to by the fans and the cricket fraternity, making for a mouthwatering contest seeing two of the world's best cricketers taking each other on.
The upcoming season of the IPL will begin with this very clash only as the two-time defending champions Mumbai Indians will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the tournament opener on April 9 in Chennai.
