There is no denying the fact that Indian Premier League (IPL) is the richest franchise cricket league across the world. The Board of Control for Cricket-run IPL is miles ahead of the other T20 leagues which are played in different parts of the world.

The IPL franchises do not mind spending a bomb when it comes to buy players during the acution, but you would be surprised to know that there are only three cricketers who have earned more than Rs 100 crore from the IPL since the launch of the cash-ruch league in in 2008. The three cricketers are:

Mahendra Singh Dhoni

The former India skipper is without doubt one of the biggest names in the IPL. Dhoni has led the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to three IPL titles and two Champions League titles. The Ranchi lad was bought by CSK for Rs 6 crore in the inaugural edition of the IPL and he was retained by CSK in 2020 for Rs 15 crore. The keeper-batsman has earned a total of Rs 137.8 crores from IPL so far.

Rohit Sharma

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has earned a total of ₹ 131.6 crores from IPL so far. It is to be noted that Rohit Sharma started his IPL journey with the now-defunct Deccan Charges and was bought in 2011 by Mumbai Indians for Rs 9.2 crore and he has remained with MI since then.

Virat Kohli

India skipper Virat Kohli is the third player on this list. It is to be noted that Kohli has been with the Royal Challengers Bangalore since 2008. He was bought by the RCB in the inaugural season for only Rs 12 lakh but his salary increased with each passing year and he drew a salary of Rs 17 crore from IPL 2020.
