Kings XI Punjab is rising from the ashes like a phoenix in IPL 2020. After beating Royal Challengers Bangalore in a last-ball thriller, Kings XI Punjab defeated Mumbai Indians in a freakish ‘double’ super over match. On Tuesday, KL Rahul’s team registered a dominant performance against table-toppers Delhi Capitals as they notched up a brilliant five-wicket win in Dubai for their third straight win. From being bottom of the table for the first half of IPL 2020, the second half has seen them overcome all their heartbreak as they have surged to the fifth spot in the points table.
With their Net Run-Rate also improving, Kings XI Punjab are firmly in the race for the play-offs now and this is not good news for the likes of Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings and even Kolkata Knight Riders for that matter. If Eoin Morgan’s side loses to Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab beat Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kings XI Punjab could very well go up to the fourth spot.
Teams | Matches | Won | Lost | Points | Net Run Rate |

Kings XI Punjab | 10 | 4 | 6 | 8 | -0.177 |
Rajasthan Royals | 10 | 4 | 6 | 8 | -0.591 |
Sunrisers Hyderabad | 9 | 3 | 6 | 6 | 0.008 |
Chennai Super Kings | 10 | 3 | 7 | 6 | -0.463 |
KL Rahul has become the first player to smash over 500 runs in three consecutive editions of the IPL but there is a new contender for the Orange Cap. Shikhar Dhawan created history by becoming the first player to score two back-to-back centuries in the IPL and he is currently in the second spot. Mayank Agarwal has slipped to third and potentially out of the race for the leading run-getter tag in the tournament. When it comes to the Purple Cap, Kagiso Rabada has extended his advantage but Mohammed Shami is staking a serious claim for the leading wicket-taker spot in IPL 2020
