L Balaji made an instant impact in the Indian Premier League's inaugural edition in 2008. Playing for the Chennai Super Kings, Balaji was in fine form and he also took a five-wicket haul in that edition. Under MS Dhoni's captaincy, Chennai Super Kings reached the final where they lost to Rajasthan Royals on the last ball. Now, Balaji is the bowling coach of the Chennai Super Kings side in IPL 2020. Stephen Fleming is the most successful captain for New Zealand at the start of the new millennium. Fleming's association with Chennai Super Kings goes back to 2008 when he was included in the side as one of the openers. Fleming had moderate success. Michael Hussey was proclaimed Mr. Cricket for his brilliance in the Australian cricket team at the start of the new decade of the millennium. Hussey was one of the mainstays in the Chennai Super Kings line-up and he played a vital role in their 2011 IPL title triumph. Now, this has no connection with the IPL. Wasim Jaffer played for Royal Challengers Bangalore while MS Dhoni has always been with Chennai Super Kings. However, Jaffer and Dhoni's association go back to the Indian cricket team days in 2008 when he took over the captaincy. Jaffer played only some games under Dhoni. Brendon McCullum was one of the finest T20 batsman in the modern era. His aggressive strokeplay helped him create history on the very first day of the IPL when he smashed 158 for Kolkata Knight Riders against Royal Challengers Bangalore. When he was picked in the Chennai Super Kings side in 2014 and 2015, he made a massive impression by scoring a century and a couple of fifties.
