The second match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) saw the clash ending into two Super Overs at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

While the second match also went into the Super Over, the drama did not end there. Kings XI Punjab scored only five runs in the Super Over bowled by Jasprit Bumrah but Mohammed Shami responded brilliantly and restricted MI to just five runs.

A second Super Over was played to determine the result and KXIP, boosted by an epic six from Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal finally won an epic, pulsating match.

While the match saw the entertainment, some questions remained unanswered, one being why Bumrah could not bowl again?

The first Super Over between MI and KXIP saw a clash of yorkers between Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami.

Bumrah kept KXIP to 5 for 2, dismissing both Nicholas Pooran and KL Rahul in the over. However, Shami came in and managed to curb MI to only 5 runs, with Quinton de Kock being run out in the last ball.

Thus, the game went into another Super Over.

2. Tied Super Over rules

These are the rules if a Super Over is tied:

"21. Any batsman dismissed in any previous Super Over shall be ineligible to bat in the following Super Over.

"22. Any bowler who bowled in the previous Super Over shall be ineligible to bowl in the subsequent Super Over.

"23. In all other ways, the procedure for a subsequent Super Over shall be the same as for the initial Super Over.

So Rahul, Pooran and Quinton de Kock (who were all dismissed) were not eligible to bat in the tied Super Over. Bumrah and Shami - who bowled the two Super Overs - were ineligible to bowl.

Kieron Pollard was listed to bat in the first Super Over and was eligible to bat in the second one too as he was not dismissed. Thus, MI sent him along with Hardik Pandya. KXIP gave the ball to Chris Jordan.

The KXIP bowler kept MI to 11 for 1, with Hardik Pandya being run out. Mayank Agarwal made an incredible save in the last ball to save 4 runs, which ended crucially.

In response, KXIP batted with Chris Gayle and Agarwal, who got the job done with ease.
