53 days of being in the bubble. From over-rates to Super Overs. Umpiring, pitches, team selections, tactics, injuries and drama - all came to an end when Mumbai Indians (MI) clinched their fifth title after defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) by 5 wickets at Dubai International Stadium, Dubai.

The Delhi franchise had made their first final appearance in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They had squared off against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Qualifier 2 and defeated them by 17 runs to have a second shot against Mumbai. Delhi had lost Qualifier 1 against Mumbai Indians by 57 runs.

While all the drama has come to an end, there were some iconic celebrations that will be etched in the minds of fans.

Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag had brought the game back into the hands of Rajasthan Royals (RR) as they won by 5 wickets over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

 

Riyan Parag, who was dropped on just 7, went on and showcased his potential in a sensational 85 run-stand for the sixth wicket.

 

And when two runs were needed off two balls, Parag smashed a six, took off his helmet and danced in Assamese Bihu style to celebrate.

Chris Gayle had played his first game for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) saw the return of self-proclaimed ‘Universal Boss’ who helped the team break their losing streak.

 

Gayle smashed 53 runs in 45 balls and was the match-winner for his team. After reaching his 50, Gayle was seen pointing towards ‘The Boss’ sign on his bat. 

 

Chris Gayle was asked about the gesture and he explained saying, “It was a very sticky surface, very slow, but it was better batting second. Team asked me to do a job at 3 and it wasn’t an issue. Openers have been batting well throughout the tournament and we didn’t want to disturb that. As I said, I was given a job and took it”.

 

“All I was saying, put some respect on the name [by pointing to his bat sticker]. That’s all,” he further added.

Suryakumar Yadav (SKY) had produced yet another match-winning knock for Mumbai Indians (MI), days after being snubbed from Team India's squad for the upcoming Australia tour.

 

SKY took the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bowlers to the cleaners at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi when they had to chase down a target of 165 runs.

 

Suryakumar emerged as the hero when he walked in to bat at number three. He took his time to settle down before going after the RCB bowlers.

 

His unbeaten 79 off 43 balls laced with ten fours and three sixes was added with 35 runs for the fourth wicket with Krunal Pandya (10) before sharing a match-winning 51-run stand for the fifth with Hardik Pandya (17). 

 

He got MI over the line with a four off Mohammed Siraj and after scoring the winning runs, the batsman did Cristiano Ronaldo's famous 'calma' celebration.

Needing 7 from 2 balls, Ravindra Jadeja smashed consecutive sixes in the final over as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had made a big dent to Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) chances of reaching the IPL play-offs.

 

Nagarkoti had bowled the final over with Curran on strike. Curran only managed to get 3 off the next two. But when Jadeja got on strike with 7 to get off the last 3 balls. There was one dot ball and then the equation changed to 7 needed off 2.

 

Jadeja then smashed a six over midwicket and tied the scores with one ball left. KKR had brought the field in for the last ball but Jadeja hit it for a six.

 

The 31-year-old first showed a thumbs-up sign towards a dugout before proceeding to underline his name on the jersey.

Delhi Capitals (DC) all-rounder Marcus Stoinis came handy with both bat and ball against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2020. 

 

Stoinis was used as an opener which paid off for DC as he scored 38 off 27 deliveries before picking up three valuable wickets in the second innings.

 

Stoinis removed Priyam Garg, Manish Pandey, and the most important wicket of Kane Williamson which helped his team qualify for the IPL 13 final. 

 

After taking the wickets, he celebrated it in Hulk's style which attracted everyone.

 

After the match, Stoinis carried a Hulk miniature with him. Shreyas Iyer asked him what does it symbolize, the Aussie responded, "Apparently that's what I am looking like when I celebrate my wickets."
