UP CM Yogi Adityanath promises Rs 1 lakh subsidy for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra

Yogi Adityanath gave his first public speech after becoming the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

In his first speech as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath spoke about the Bharatiya Janata Party’s plans for the state in his native Gorakhpur. He said: “Na jaati, na mazhab, na ling ke naam par koi bhedbhaav hoga. (There will be no discrimination based on caste, religion or gender). He also announced a government subsidy of Rs 1 lakh for healthy pilgrims who want to go on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

He also said: “Vikas sabka hoga. Kisi ka tushtikaran nahi hoga. Humne prashasan se kaha hai ki aise tatvo par kadhai barti jaaye jo manchale hai. (Development will be everyone. Nobody's will be appeased. We have told the administration that strict measures should be taken against those elements which are inappropriate.)

He also spoke about the anti-Romeo squads adding that they will not harass couples sitting together but will target those who harass women in public places, schools and colleges.

He also thanked the people of Uttar Pradesh for backing BJP and said that PM Modi’s development programmes will be available for all. He said they would work to reverse the brain drain from the state.

Thanking Amit Shah for making BJP the world’s most important political party, he said it was up to the people of Uttar Pradesh to take it forward. He said the CM post wasn’t just a position, and they would ensure ‘sabka saath, sabka vikaas’.

He added that he might be missing from Gorakhpur but there will be solutions for people's problems. He also promised that there would be no new decision beyond those promised in the BJP manifesto.

He added that UP would become a developed state. He promised to work for all of Uttar Pradesh and said that people should not take the law into their own hands. 

He also said: “Jo log Kailash Mansarovar ki yaatra karna chahte hain, agar wo swastha hain un ko humlog Rs. 1 lakh ka anudaan denge. Lucknow, Ghaziabad ya Noida mein se kisi ek sthaan par Kailash Mansarovar bhavan ka nirmaan karenge. (Those who want to visit Kailash Mansarovar, if they are healthy we will grant them Rs 1 lakh. We will construct a Kailash Mansarovar Bhavan at one of the places in Lucknow, Ghaziabad or Noida.)

    Hitting back at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday jocularly said the former is one year older than him but much behind in terms of work.

    Akhilesh said this while addressing the media after the Samajwadi Party’s national executive meet in Lucknow.Taking a dig at the leaders of Congress and Samajwadi Party who had formed a coalition to take on the BJP in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, Adityanath had earlier said, ‘I came in between’ Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav.’‘I am younger by one year to Rahul ji and one year older to Akhilesh Yadav. And I came between the two (Rahul and Akhilesh). This could be a major reason for their failure,’ he added.The BJP trounced the Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance by grabbing 312 seats in the 403-member Uttar Pradesh Assembly.
