On Saturday, April 8, 2017, BJP local leader Sanjay Tyagi got in a tussle with Meerut Police on account of the shenanigans of his son Ankit Tyagi.
According to reports, Ankit was heading out with his friends in his car and had turned on the hooter on his SUV. An inspector stopped him, requesting him to turn it off.
Ankit reportedly challenged the police that his uniform would come off in 24 hours, not the hooter.
The police tried taking Ankit to the police station, at which point Ankit called his father who quickly arrived at the scene with some associates.
Sanjay Tyagi introduced himself to the police hoping to deter them from taking his son to the police station.
However, when the police did not yield, Sanjay Tyagi got into a physical tussle with the police, and his son tried to escape from the police jeep that he was made to sit in.
The BJP leader even pulled open the uniform of the policemen, however in the end Ankit was forced to sit in the police jeep and taken away.
The BJP leader and police personnel lodged cross complaints against each other. However, Ankit was later let off.
