Union Budget presented with 10-year vision in mind Nirmala Sitharaman

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the union budget was presented with a “10-year vision in mind”, and was continuation of the interim budget presented in February by then acting Finance Minister Piyush Goyal. Sitharaman added that the budget’s emphasis was on overall development of the economy, and to boost the living standards in both rural and urban centers. “The emphasis was very clearly on the overall development of economy. We looked at rural initiatives, all of which will give certain dynamic to the rural areas. Similarly, we looked at how urban living can be better,” Sitharaman told reporters after presenting the budget in the Parliament.
