Terrorism declined after bifurcation of JK in UTs Rajnath Singh

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed army forces in Ladakh on June 28. During his speech he shared the locals’ happiness on through back decision of government to became Union territories to Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh. He said, “Two years back, the Govt took a historical decision - J&K and Ladakh became UTs. When I talk to the people of Ladakh and our MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, then I see a difference. He says that the people of Ladakh are happy. Why was it needed to form UT? Due to terrorism and lack of socio-economic development. People were devoid of even basic facilities. I don't think any sensitive govt will tolerate it. Terrorism activities went down after formation of UT. Army doing commendable work.”
