Situation was extremely volatile Meerut ADGP on cop telling protestors to ‘go to Pak’ in viral video

While speaking to ANI in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut on December 28, the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Meerut Zone, Prashant Kumar, spoke on viral video of Meerut Superintendent of Police (SP), Akhilesh Narayan Singh, during Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests. He said, “Stones were being pelted, anti-India and pro-neighbouring country slogans were being raised there. Situation was very tense. Popular Front of India (PFI) pamphlets were being distributed. This was despite all appeals, including by religious leaders.” “Yes, if situation was normal then choice of words could have been better, but that day the situation was extremely volatile, our officers showed a lot of restraint, there was no firing by Police,” ADG added. On December 20, Meerut SP was caught on camera telling protesters to go to Pakistan.
