Portals of temples in Varanasi close ahead of solar eclipse

Parts of India will witness solar eclipse on December 26. Portals of temples are being closed in Varanasi as ‘darshan’ of goddesses and gods is not considered auspicious during eclipse. Eclipse occurs when moon comes between sun and earth and sun appears as a ring. Solar eclipse will start at 8 AM. Planetariums are also prepped up to give people glimpse of the eclipse.
