Police registers case against people for chanting ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ in Aligarh

Police registered case against several people for chanting ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh on December 24. Case was registered for violating norms amid imposition of Section 144 across state due to protests regarding Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). They were chanting ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ at Centre Point of Aligarh. People from different caste and communities were chanting ‘Hanuman Chalisa’. While speaking to ANI, the Circle Officer (CO) of Aligarh, Anil Samaniya said, “They (people) have violated rules of Section 144 and were chanting ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ in mid of the road.”
