Onion prices continue to rise in several parts of the country. To control the prices, the Centre is constantly in touch with the state governments to access the demands and requirements along with the supply. The prices of the onion have reached Rs 80-90/kg. While speaking to ANI, a vendor in Prayagraj said, "Onion used to cost Rs 15-20/kg earlier, now the prices have reached Rs 80-90/kg. We are also getting it at a higher price from the wholesaler, that’s why we have to pass on the increased prices."
