Odisha’s Congress president resigns from post after record defeat

A day after the results of both Lok Sabha and Assembly polls were announced in Odisha, state Congress president Niranjan Patnaik resigned from the post claiming moral responsibility for the party’s disastrous performance in the polls. While speaking to ANI, he said, “I too had contested the election, party had given me a responsibility, I take the moral responsibility for this debacle and relinquish this job. I've communicated it to my AICC President.”
