Dismissing rumours of curfew being imposed in Kashmir after state’s Home Department issued an advisory to Amarnath pilgrims to leave the Valley amid terror threat from Pakistan, Kashmir’s Divisional Commissioner Baseer Ahmed Khan said no such decision to impose a curfew or shutting schools has been taken. Khan explained that the home department’s advisory is just to maintain peace in the region, and the advisory was issued on the basis of credible intelligence inputs. The J&K government had today advised Amarnath pilgrims to cut short their ‘Yatra’, and leave the Valley after it received intelligence input of Pakistan planning an attack on Amarnath Yatris.
