Due to incessant rains in Dharchula of Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand , the water level of the rivers increased and many roads were closed due to landslides. Locals are facing huge trouble in the area and said that administration is not doing anything. “At least 12-14 families have been affected due to landslides and have been shifted to safer places,” the SDM (Sub-Divisional Magistrate) of Dharchula, Anil Kumar Shukla said. Heavy rains in Chamoli district have increased the water level of rivers, landslides have halted vehicular movement on Badrinath National Highway. District Magistrate of Chamoli, Swati S Bhadauria said, “Many roads were closed due to heavy rains, and most of the places have been opened.”
