Kolkata violence BJP meets EC demands immediate action against TMC

A BJP delegation today met the Election Commission in Delhi over the violence that took place during party chief Amit Shah’s roadshow in Kolkata and demanded immediate action against the TMC government whom the BJP accused of perpetrating the chaos. Briefing media after the meeting, Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the party has demanded the poll body to arrest “disturbing elements and history sheeters” and to bar Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee from campaigning owing to today’s violent clashes. Earlier in the day, clashes between TMC and BJP workers broke out during Amit Shah’s roadshow.
