BJP workers accused TMC-affiliated students of hurling bricks and bottles at BJP chief Amit Shah’s truck during his roadshow in Kolkata. One of the BJP workers told ANI that when Shah’s roadshow was proceeding, some students who appeared to be affiliated with TMC hurled bricks and bottles at them. An injured local, who received head injuries, alleged that TMC workers hit him with bricks, and criticised TMC government for its ‘gundaraj’ in West Bengal. A student of the Vidyasagar College, who had received injuries, blamed the BJP for inciting violence during Shah’s roadshow and said the party is showing its ‘culture’. Bengali polymath Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar’s statue was also vandalized during the scuffle which was situated inside the Vidyasagar College.
