Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas in the state on August 13. Around, 88 people have died in 14 districts of Kerala since August 08 due to floods. At least, 40 people are reported missing in the state. Earlier, flight operations were resumed at Cochin International Airport on August 11. Authorities have been put on high alert. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Kannur, Kasaragod and Wayanad in view of heavy rain forecast.
