Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan protested against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Thiruvananthapuram on December 16. Leader of Opposition in the assembly Ramesh Chennithala also joined him in the protest. President Ram Nath Kovind gave his assent to Citizenship (Amendment) Bill on December 13 which will give Indian citizenship to non-Muslim refugees who faced persecution in three neighbouring countries- Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
