Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services, Lieutenant General Daljit Singh explained about the management of the COVID pandemic in the country. He talked about the reasons why India suffered less in the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic as compared to the US and other countries of the West. “Prime Minister’s campaign of having indigenous vaccines and vaccinating people in a systematic manner ensured that people who could get infected, are saved. There, the mortality came down. The third wave was very mild in the country because most of the people were already vaccinated in the adult group and even adolescents started getting vaccines,” he added.
