Gujarat Villagers compelled to swim on wooden logs amid absence of bridge over river in Valsad

Amid the absence of a bridge over a river in Valsad, Gujarat, the villagers are left with no other option but to cross the river by swimming on wooden logs. The incessant rainfall is further delaying the construction work of the bridge. “We need a bridge over the river. Children often swim across the river using tubes and wooden logs to reach their schools,” the village Sarpanch said.
