Former DGP of Assam Harekrishna Deka has raised allegation of malfunctioning of EVM in Guwahati today during the third phase of polling. According to the former DGP, “When I went to vote at the polling station in Lachit Nagar, the EVM didn’t register my vote once I pressed the button somebody else name came, then I challenged it.” When Deka reached to the polling official to complaint against EVM malfunctioning, he was asked to pay Rs 2 to check the EVM machine. He was also informed that in case of false complaint he will face six months in jail.
