While the country has entered into the fourth phase of the lockdown amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and most people are inside their homes, there are many on the other side waiting for a way to reach back to their loved ones. When returning back to their homes became a big problem and there was no hope to see their loved ones, social activist Yogita Bhayana stepped in to help these people who had come to Delhi for getting treated at various hospitals and now when the OPDs and doors of these hospitals are shut for them, they are just trying to get back to their homes. Speaking to ANI, social activist Yogita Bhayana said, “From day 1 of lockdown, our most vulnerable group were patients who had come to Delhi for seeking treatment in Delhi as they are living in Rain Basera as they had no place to live.” “We found a group which had most of the heart patients, cancer patients and others with burn injuries. Due to this, they are not even able to walk. Firstly, they are poor and secondly, they are with disabilities or problems,” she added. She also urged the administration to prioritise the travel of these outstation patients as they are in need and require urgent care and attention. Bhayana arranged for the buses for them with her own pocket, put in all her hard work and efforts. She also took all the permission from administration to take those buses to other states and send these helpless humans home. The first batch of these buses carrying these outstation patients left from Delhi at around 2:30 am on Monday while the second batch was sent off from Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan on May 21.
