West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar attended a cultural festival in Kolkata. Speaking at the event, Governor said that he had written a letter to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee concerning violence in educational institutes. He said, “I was disturbed by the news of violence in educational institutes. I wrote a letter to respected Chief Minister saying if you don’t pay attention to these issues, we will take coming generations down. This is not fair. She wrote me back within 24 hours. She said that Education Minister Partha Chatterjee will dicuss the matter with me.” West Bengal has witnessed violent protests against Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
