Delhi High Court issued notice to Google India, Facebook India and Twitter India over removal of fake news. Court sought response of Centre and social media organizations on taking action through designated officers of intermediaries for removal of fake news on social media platforms. Former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ideologue KN Govindacharya had moved a PIL before Delhi High Court 'accusing various social media companies of misusing idea of free speech and not complying with Indian laws which result in divisive society and riots like situation'.
