Amid shortage of COVID-19 vaccines, people from Delhi and Haryana are booking slots in Meerut. However, Meerut administration is discouraging them as it will lead to shortage in the district as well. Speaking on it, District Immunization Officer, Praveen Gautam said, “People from Delhi and Haryana are booking slots in Meerut for second dose of Covaxin due to its shortage there. Around 70%-80% slots of Covaxin's second dose for 18-44 age group have been booked by people from Delhi. We are discouraging them.”
