Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Jairam Thakur was honoured by M Venkaiah Naidu at the Samskrita Bharati’s World Conference in New Delhi. He was accorded the honour for giving second language status to Sanskrit in the state. Speaking at the event, CM Thakur said, “Sanskrit is not just the language of our country, it can also be a global language.” “Despite living in the age of technology and progressing, Sanskrit has its own importance. Even in technology, the most suitable language found for computers was Sanskrit,” he added. Health Minister Harsh Vardhan also attended the event.
