CM Hemant Soren requests Centre for tax reform to fight COVID-19 pandemic

The chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren urged the Centre for tax reform to fight COVID-19 pandemic. He said, “Our state is totally depended on Central Government for resources during the coronavirus pandemic. Centre may do some amendment in current tax policy, so that states can gather their own revenue.” The Chief Minister also raised concern over the safety and security of migrant workers who are returning back to their home state amid the uncertainty. CM Soren made these statements after attending the fifth virtual meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Chief Ministers over the pandemic.
