While speaking on Jashpur incident, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on October 25 said that the incident was unfortunate and could have been avoided. “Party's state in-charge PL Punia has clarified everything, one should not spoil the atmosphere by raising questions again and again after that. The incident could have been avoided. It was unfortunate, it should not have taken place,” said CM Bhagel. Amid the ongoing political turmoil in the Chhattisgarh unit of the Congress, several party leaders and workers pushed former district unit president Pawan Agarwal on the stage and prevented him from completing his speech at a party workers conference in Jashpur on October 24.
