All India Council for Technical Education has requested state governments to increase fees in engineering and technical courses. The fees in Chennai’s Anna University is set to be hiked. Former VC Dr Adinarayana Kalanidhi said, “There are mistakes in many fronts who are deciding about technical education. One is that AICTE which is supposed to maintain standard other is University which is supposed to inspect and decide whether inside the same things are available as they have indicated earlier. Next things is to see whether they are running the colleges as they have collected the fees. The last thing is whether the colleges have requisite qualified faculty.”
