While speaking during the winter session of Lok Sabha on November 20, the President of Arunachal Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Tapir Gao said, “I had requested the former Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and present Defence Minister Rajnath Singh over providing compensation to the people of Arunachal Pradesh for the land of the locals that has been acquired by Army. But no compensation has been given till now.” On the other side, the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman replied to Tapir Gao’s question and said, “I can commit myself that I had gone there, sat with the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and cleared many of the compensations which were due for the people of Arunachal Pradesh.”
