A unique step was taken in Meghalaya’s Shillong to make people aware of menstrual health. Women's College conducted a special program to make students aware about menstruation's hygiene products. As a part of the program, a vending machine for manufacturing biodegradable napkin was installed. This is for the first time that sanitary napkin vending machine was installed in the Women's College. Biodegradable napkin is made of banana stem fiber with no plastic and no chemicals.
