Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), the civic administration body of Karnataka capital, will intensify its effort in implementing the state-wide ban on single-use plastic, and besides small and big manufacturers, it will even penalise users for using single-use plastic. “In 2016, there was a statewide ban on single-use plastic by the state government which is applicable to BBMP limits also. Implementation has not been in top gear,” BBMP’s Special Commissioner D Randeep said. “Now, we are ensuring that any user of plastic, be it domestic or big eateries or manufacturers, all this should completely cease. Even the user will be fined,” he added.
