Ballia SDM beat up people for flouting COVID rules in UP suspended

The Ballia Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Ashok Chaudhary, has been suspended with immediate effect for 'brutally beating' people for allegedly violating social distancing norms, informed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Twitter. In view of COVID-19 pandemic, Ballia SDM and Police personnel were seen beating up people while carrying out a drive in Belthara Road to check if people were wearing masks and observing social distancing.
