The automatic toll plaza payment system FASTag has become mandatory from midnight today. People driving vehicles that do not have the tag yet would have to pay a fee equivalent to two times the usual charge at toll plazas. Also, The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has now ended the stipulation of keeping a minimum balance to make the use of FASTag more prevalent.
